Strength

The strength ability score is used to determine maximum weight, strength checks, strength saving throws, and the bonus to melee attacks, as well as some other strength related requirements.

Bonus to Hit: Using the table, your strength score will give you your melee bonus to hit modifier. Only use this on melee attacks. Alice swings with her sword. She has a strength score of 11 and no other modifiers. She rolls a 7 on her natural die roll. Her total attack roll is 8.

Bonus to Block: Using the table, your strength score will determine your bonus to block modifier. Remember block only applies to frontal attacks. Your bonus to block can be negative, as it assumes that you are too encumbered to carry and maneuver the shield.

Armor: This table represents the armor that a character can wear without being encumbered. When encumbered, they cannot get any bonus from their dexterity, and their negative dexterities modifiers double.

Carrying Capacity: Carrying capacity is only relevant for determining a total weight that the character is holding in their arms and carrying in their large sac. For the weight they are holding, this includes anything heavy is slung over their shoulder or in their arms (such as a body). There is no strength requirement for sacs or other gear that is smaller than the large sac. The weight that is being carried in other areas has no effect on the weight carried in the large sac. Refer to the table in the Equipment page to determine how much weight a bag may hold.

There are different large sacs which each have their own weight requirements.

If a character is carrying more weight in their large sac than their strength requirement, their initiative score is doubled and every die roll that is rolled saves with a minus equal to your new initiative score.

Max Lift: A character can do a maxium single lift which is equal to their large sac capacity weight multiplied by the multiplier value in the max lift column below. The DM may use discretion for max lifts.
